This workshop explores basic issues of Being and Nothingness in a powerfully practical and extremely experiential fashion.

It accomplishes this by framing it under the subject of invisibility and immediately gives the secret of invisibility as, "The living won't see the dead. Not can't see, but won't." This little nugget of wisdom is from Beetlejuice - a must see classic bardo video.

Mr. Gold opens a door to bardo spaces by presenting the conclusion that - you must be dead to be invisible. The key is given as, "In order to be dead you have to be, at least, 'as if' not here at all. It has to be a world without you, a world in which you do not exist.

As long as there's a crumb of ego, you can't be invisible. But as soon as you can see a world that you do not exist in, a world in which you are not, that's your crossover point - the world in which you don't exist, that's the first place you'll be existing. Until then, you 'as if' exist."

Enigmatic as this may sound, it becomes even more enigmatic upon listening to the entire workshop. However, clues and exercises are given for a lifetime of follow-up work.

Synopsis

This workshop explores the concepts of invisibility, levitation, and immortality, primarily focusing on invisibility as a state of being "dead" to the world. Through exercises in perception and detachment, participants are guided to experience invisibility as a shift in awareness rather than a literal disappearance. Later sessions incorporate drumming as a practice to enhance focus, dissolve mental obstructions, and enter altered states of perception. The discussion also touches upon the metaphysical aspects of detachment, presence, and collective energy.

Summary

The workshop begins with a light-hearted introduction, emphasizing that the session will cover invisibility first, followed by levitation and immortality. Participants are introduced to the idea that invisibility is not simply a trick but a state in which one is completely detached from the world, to the extent that one does not register within the "vision" of others.

The foundational principle of this practice is that "the living won't see the dead." To experience invisibility, an individual must perceive themselves as non-existent within a given world. Exercises involve diffusing one’s vision, stepping outside the bubble of perceived reality, and witnessing the world as though from the outside. Several participants report fleeting success in the practice but also struggle with persistent awareness of their physical selves.

The discussion expands into the phantom nature of perception, touching upon how individual experience is simulated rather than shared in an absolute sense. Participants explore methods of detaching and allowing others to disappear from perception as part of the invisibility exercise. Challenges arise as the moment someone becomes aware of their success, they tend to snap back into the world.

In the second half of the workshop, drumming is introduced as a tool for focus, trance induction, and energetic cleansing. Participants engage in extended drumming circles, aiming to drive out "negative energy" and establish a "demon-free zone." The rhythm becomes a tool for attention training, where losing tempo serves as immediate feedback on lapses in focus. Some attendees experience auditory hallucinations, hearing additional instruments or choirs.

As the workshop concludes, invisibility is contextualized not as a gimmick but as part of a larger practice of detachment. The discussions weave together personal reflection, metaphysical inquiry, and practical experimentation to deepen participants' understanding of perception, presence, and absence.

Graphic Prompt

"A surreal scene depicting an ethereal figure standing at the edge of a translucent bubble, looking inward at a vibrant but distant world. Their body fades into the background, appearing almost transparent. The environment is slightly distorted, space curving unnaturally. In the background, faint glowing silhouettes of figures in ritualistic drumming circles create waves of rippling energy. The overall color palette is dreamlike, with warm ambient tones blending into deep cosmic blues."
